Matt Smith and David Tennant Devised Plan to Both Remain as the Doctor

Steven Moffat has revealed in the Radio Times that David Tennant and Matt Smith bonded so well on the set of the Day of the Doctor that they were inseparable.

“They got on like a couple of old women, they just sat in the corner and gossiped the entire time… The double act between them is sublime, It’s one of those happy accidents – there’s no reason why they should be, but they are absolutely adorable and hilarious together.

The Moff explained that both Smith and Tennant devised a scheme so they could carry on working together on the show.

“By the end of it, Matt told me that he’d worked out this plan that they’d both continue in Doctor Who: do five individual episodes each and three together – would that be OK? It was a nice plan. I think if I’d said yes they’d have gone for it.”

What do our DWA readers think? Even though Matt was obviously joking, would you have welcomed a co-owned TARDIS for a season? Letters on a postcard!
