Content Starts BBC Missing Episode Audios Dropped From Schedules, Daemons VHS Delayed, More

Several anticipated Doctor Who releases are suffering setbacks, including both of this year’s missing episodes soundtrack cassettes.

Celestial Toyroom reports that The Daemons video release has been held up due to one actor not signing clearance. The videotapes are packaged and waiting for release and April looks the likely release date. The issue is not one that affects Terror of the Autons or The Silurians, yet the latter is said to have some quality issues which may yet prevent a release.

The audio releases of Power of the Daleks and Fury from the Deep have now been dropped from the schedules. Both tapes, with narration from Tom Baker, have already been recorded and there is no information as to why the delay has taken place. BBC Spoken Word has confirmed that audio releases will still happen later this year.

Toyroom reports that Image of the Fendahl will be scheduled for release on VHS in March. Terror of the Autons and an extended version of Silver Nemesis in April and, finally, Vengeance on Varos will be released in May.

Genesis of the Daleks ratings were not good with ratings of just 2.2, 2.3 and 2.3 million at time of publication.

Vengeance on Varos (in 4 parts) and Remembrance of the Daleks are tipped as the next two repeat serials to be shown following The Caves of Androzani.
