In the second of our “hot topic” polls following last week’s question on a female Doctor, we asked our followers whether they were happy Steven Moffat was staying for Series 10 of Doctor Who.

With 227 votes cast, those happy with Steven Moffat continuing in the role won the day by 56% of the vote.

While possibly not being able to be seen as a ringing endorsement, with 44% wishing to see a change at the top, the majority of fans are happy with the Grand Moff’s leadership, coming off the back of a critically acclaimed Series 9.

Here’s some of the comments:

Speaking to Satellite and TV Magazine in September, Moffat suggested he’d grown into the role:

“I thought I would get tired by it, and of it. But I haven’t. If anything, I think I cope with the stress and fatigue better than I used to. So I take it a year at a time. But they might decide that they’ve had enough of me and kick me out!”

He also revealed during the promotion for the Husbands of River Song that he felt that the Christmas Special may have been his last work on the show:

“I’ll be honest, I brought River Song back in because I thought there was a possibility I’d never write [Doctor Who] again so that’d be my goodbye.”

Steven Moffat will be in charge for Series 10 of Doctor Who which will air in late 2016/early 2017. The Husbands of River Song airs this Christmas Day at 5:15pm on BBC One and 9pm EST on BBC America.
