Toronto to Pay Tribute to Doctor Who

In celebration of the 50th anniversary the Toronto-based TCON Promotional Society to present The Reversed Polarity Convention, the event being held at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel, Highway 7 and Leslie St., Richmond Hill Ontario, from November 1-3, 2013.

The event will feature autographs, photo sessions, and Q&A’s with a variety of guests associated with the show’s history, as well as the opportunity for fans of the show to participate in writing workshops, a costume competition, two dances, shopping, prop displays, and many other activities. The featured guests of the event include:

Peter Davison: Davison portrayed The Doctor from 1981-1985. He is also known for playing Tristan Farnon on “All Creatures Great and Small”, and most recently as Henry Sharpe on “Law and Order: UK”. He reprised his role as The Doctor for the 2007 charity special “Time Crash” where he met his future self, the Tenth Doctor, played by the actor’s own future son-in-law, David Tennant.

Dan Starkey: Starkey currently the character Strax, a humourous alien of the Sontaran race. Starkey has transformed this iconic war-mongering monster into a crime-solving Victorian butler. His portrayal of Strax has led Starkey to become one of the most popular actors currently on the series.

Graeme Harper: Harper has a long and illustrious history with “Doctor Who”. Harper’s work has spanned his days as floor assistant for the series in the 1960s to his more recent work directing many David Tennant episodes and the show’s spin-off series, “The Sarah Jane Adventures”. That body of work includes directing the last appearance on “Doctor Who” of Reversed Polarity guest Peter Davison.

Dick Mills: Mills, the former head of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, provided the sound effects on the series for many decades, and was one the people responsible for creating the unique sound of “Doctor Who”‘s theme music in 1963.

Other guests appearing at Reversed Polarity include writers Julie Czerneda, JM Frey, Graeme Burk, Robert Smith?, and Nikki Stafford.
