Following on from the successful Lords of Time convention earlier this year, First Contact Conventions, in conjunction with Culture Shock Events, brings together a bevy of Who alumnae for Australian fans of Doctor Who. Set over two weekends in 4 cities, fans will be able to meet and greet some of Who’s most memorable companions. In attendance will be:
Frazer Hines (Jamie McCrimmon)
Deborah Watling (Victoria Waterfield)
Wendy Padbury (Zoe Heriot)
Richard Franklin (Captain Mike Yates)
Mark Strickson (Vislor Turlough)
Nicola Bryant (Peri Brown)
Daphne Ashbrook (Grace Holloway)
And the 8th Doctor himself – Paul McGann!
Also joining these fantastic guests will be Big Finish writer (and Nicola Bryant’s other half) Nev Fountain and actress Charlie Hayes, daughter of Wendy Padbury.
Starting in Melbourne on Friday December 6, convention organisers have planned a full day (and night) of activities. There will be photo and autograph sessions, Q&A panels with each guest, trading tables to buy the latest merchandise, and a special concert featuring Grace herself, Daphne Ashbrook!
If it is anything like the last Lords of Time convention I attended, I can assure you all that it will be a blast. First Contact Conventions and Culture Shock Events run a tight Tardis, so to speak. There will be fun for young and old, Nu-fan or Classic-fan. Take my advice Australian Who fans, book your tickets now before they’ve sold out.
Dates and Cities:
Melbourne – Fri December 6th (night) & Sat December 7th (day)
Adelaide – Sun December 8th (day & night)
Sydney – Fri December 13th (night) & Sat December 14th (day)
