Missing Episodes: BFI E-Mail Speculation - Statement
It has come to DWA’s attention that there is some speculation online that we are in possession of “hundreds” of “explosive” E-Mails from the BFI and possibly elsewhere concerning the recovery of missing episodes of Doctor Who and other shows between 2011 and 2013.
We can categorically state that this is not the case and anything we post on Monday will not concern these alleged E-Mails.
Postings at the Gallifrey Base forums and elsewhere online indicate however that some individuals are indeed in possession of these documents, they are stated to prove conclusively that more Doctor Who has been found. We should like to encourage any individual with information as to the contents of such E-Mails to contact us in confidence.
There had been speculation online that an announcement on missing episodes may be made by the BBC this weekend (alongside an announcement concerning Series 8), hence our delay till Monday even though we didn’t put too much credence in the claim.
Given the level of unfounded speculation we shall state that our Monday update is not any kind of announcement of a confirmed find or leaked audiovisual material as some have speculated, rather it is simply an update on the ongoing efforts to secure more missing episodes from TIEA with particular reference to the Cardiff production team and Steven Moffat.
Should any information on these alleged E-Mails be forthcoming we will of course bring you an update at the earliest possible juncture.
So, now there’s missing emails about missing episodes speculation! The mind boggles…
