In a somewhat surprising turn of events, a clear statement on any announcement of missing episodes being returned to the BBC seems to have been made, all be it privately.
Wyn Lewis, one of the admin team behind a prominent missing episodes discussion group on Facebook said on Twitter, seemingly unnoticed, in July:
The missing episodes group in question famously held a Q&A session with Morris last month and admins have indeed stated they are in contact with the episode hunter by E-Mail, so the tweet is almost certainly in good faith with genuine backing.
The claim would seemingly put to pasture any rumours that an announcement may be made in the post-Series 8/before Christmas timeframe and would also seemingly have connotations for the “omnirumour,” leaving it open to interpretation as to whether the news signifies 2015 onward releases or indeed, whether any further episodes have been found at all.
