Writer Anthony Horowitz has seemingly debunked the rumour started just hours ago linking him to the position of showrunner on Doctor Who.
Responding to a Tweet earlier this evening, Horowitz stated:
@philiplickley Unlikely.
— Anthony Horowitz (@AnthonyHorowitz) September 1, 2014
The Tweet comes after well connected missing episode hunter Philip Morris claimed that Horowitz was the name being talked about to replace Steven Moffat and that the Tintin writer had the approval of 1970’s Tom Baker producer Philip Hinchcliffe.
Morris’ statement came as part of a much larger criticism of Moffat-led Who and the revelation that the news of The Web of Fear‘s recovery had leaked to the The Moff prior to the production of The Snowmen, placing it firmly into 2012 or even prior.
Steven Moffat has previously indicated he will be continuing on for at least Series 9 and personally, we’ll believe him leaving the show when we see it!
