In a sun-dappled Sherwood forest, the Doctor discovers an evil plan from beyond the stars and strikes up an unlikely alliance with Robin Hood. With all of Nottingham at stake, the Doctor must decide who is real and who is fake. Can impossible heroes really exist?

After what many consider a ratings disappointment this past week with Into the Dalek (much improved consolidated figures impending) the Beeb will be hoping that the lure of Tom Riley in tights will draw a crowd… sorry, we got distracted for a second.. as Doctor Who meets the impossible man, Robin Hood.
Written as a more comedic episode than either of the two previous, Doctor Who hasn’t been this out-and-out funny in a long while. With laughs aplenty, Peter Capaldi gets to flex his comedic muscles in a very different episode to either the preceding Into the Dalek or following Listen. Robot of Sherwood is far more than filler between two heavy bookends however and we’ve a feeling that this is one people will either love or hate.
Personally? we loved it.
