Peter Capaldi has given a new interview, covering his sadness at the departure of Jenna Coleman, a few hints on The Husbands of River Song and revealing what Doctor Who stuff he used to get for Christmas!

Speaking to Heat Magazine, the Twelfth Doctor actor revealed that the filming of The Wedding of River Song was weird without Jenna on-set:

“I’m so used to having her there, so to have her not show up was strange”

Capaldi also revealed what it was like on-set for Coleman’s last day:

“These things never work out the way you want them to. We did our last scene, but then she wasn’t quite gone, because she had to do some other bits and pieces. I didn’t want to stick around because it was too sad. It’s hard to lose somebody who has been with you from the very start - Jenna was the person who showed me around the TARDIS and was so kind to me from day one.”

On non-Clara related topics, Peter revealed that one year he received a Dalek costume as a boy:

“My parents bought me a Dalek costume, which of course I imagined would be… a Dalek. But when you opened the box, it was a dome with a plastic skirt, circles drawn on it and with two holes to stick your hands through. It was a kind of abstract version of a Dalek… That would be 50 years ago or something.”

Capaldi also revealed that the gifts didn’t stop with his childhood:

“My mother always used to buy me the Doctor Who Annual. And she did until quite recently, as a sort of a joke. So I have this huge collection of Doctor Who annuals”
