The Patrick Troughton classics, The Power of the Daleks and The Evil of the Daleks, will be novelised it has been confirmed.

Peter Darvill-Evans, editor of Virgin Books, has stated that both novels will be penned by John Peel, writer of several Dalek stories for the Target range, and that Alistair Pearson has been contracted to provide the covers.

The novels, which will take on a length similar to the New Adventures, will be the first TV novelisations released since Marc Platt’s Battlefield in July of 1991.

The Evil of the Daleks is scheduled to be released by BBC Audio shortly and the single surviving episode will make-up part of The Dalek Special, scheduled for release in July. There is no word yet on a release schedule for the two new novelisations, but both are expected in early 1993.
