An Adventure in Space and Time, the BBC2 docudrama starring David Bradley as William Hartnell, will broadcast the week before the 50th anniversary of the show.
Alongside Bradley, Jessica Raine will star as Verity Lambert as the production team struggle to put out the family show during the 1960′s. The drama will cut out significant parts of the shows history, such as Terry Nation and Raymond Cusick’s creation of the Daleks and instead focus on the BBC of the 1960′s and the original attempt to get the show commissioned.
Written by Mark Gatiss, the show will also feature Sacha Dhawan as Waris Hussein and Brian Cox as Sydney Newman.
