Durham Police Force have installed TARDIS doors to it’s HQ elevator in a move that has won both praise and criticism alike from critics… or at least one!

The force, based in County Durham, has said that the new doors shows that the force could be “professional and still have a sense of humour” and tied them into classic policing, saying they were a reminder of “old days”.
A spokesperson said:
“We chose the Tardis look because of the old-fashioned police boxes that the force had in the area,” she said. They’re a reminder of the old days of policing.”
Yet the move has gained some small measure of criticism, with a particularly small minority saying the move is “waste of taxpayers’ money”. Despite claims in the tabloid press the criticism appears to be limited to a single Twitter user who said the new installation as “just looks like a waste of tax payers money to me!”, despite attempts to claim more widespread distaste.
Positive comments include “How can you call this a “waste” - I’d be chuffed to bits to see my tax money spent on this!”, “Just seen this on the BBC news site, love it! 😀 Thanks for having a great sense of humour!” and “Aha epic! Gotta have a bit of fun in the office, keep people’s spirits up” amongst many more.
