Steven Moffat has promised new writers for the next series of Doctor Who, proclaiming that “If [he] told you their names, your brain would explode.”

Speaking at the London première of The Husbands of River Song, Moffat revealed that plans for the next series were already underway,

“We’re already moving, we’ve had meetings today with two writers who’ve never written Doctor Who before…”

The Moff wouldn’t be drawn on the names of the writers however, but promises potentially something special:

“If I told you their names, your brain would explode… They’re brilliant, prominent and amazing writers… It’s going to be amazing”

The promise of prominent writers joins the existing rumours that director Peter Jackson will also join the series, only fuelled by the video Jackson released at the end of November.

Doctor Who returns this Christmas Day with The Husbands of River Song, Series 10 is expected to air in late 2016/early 2017.
