Barrowman Wants to Return
John Barrowman has again spoken out on his desire to return to Doctor Who, saying that he’s doing all he can to keep the character alive.
Speaking to the Ipswich Star, Barrowman said:
“I have to be honest, one person who’s keeping Captain Jack alive is John Barrowman because I’m plugging him, promoting him and making sure he’s kept out there because one day he will return. I think they would be very silly not to bring him back. If they asked me I would be more than happy to go back. The Arrow producers said they would allow me to go do it, but I’ve never been asked and I don’t know if I will be.”
The character of Captain Jack will return in a different medium however, a series of six audio plays from Big Finish Productions. Each of the new audio adventures will focus on a separate member of the Torchwood team, beginning (of course) with Captain Jack in September’s The Conspiracy from David Llewellyn.
Bring Back Shona!
Also hoping for a return to the series is Faye Marsay, who won the love of a great many fans for her portrayal of Shona during the 2014 Christmas Special Last Christmas.
Speaking to the Radio Times at the Sky Arts South Bank Awards, Marsay said:
“I would absolutely love to go back into Doctor Who because everyone on it, down to the person who cleans the trailer, is lovely, it’s a universally appealing show, and I had a great time on it. I just got to play myself basically, which was quite nice. If they asked me to come back, I would do it in a heartbeat, but if they don’t, I’m lucky to have done it in the first place.”
But does she have an ulterior motive…
“And Peter Capaldi I totally fancy. I would snog his face.”
