Arc of Infinity & Mawdryn Undead Target Reprints Released

Virgin publishing has re-released a further two reprints from the Target range, Arc of Infinity by Terrence Dicks and Mawdryn Undead by Peter Grimwade.

Arc of Infinity

‘Hello,’ said the Doctor cheerfully. ‘I’m the Doctor.’ Maxil raised his stasar pistol and shot him down.

On his return to Gallifrey, the Doctor learns that his bio data extract has been stolen from the Time Lords’ master computer, the Matrix. The Gallifreyan High Council believes that anti-matter will be infiltrated into the universe as a result of the theft. The information must be rendered useless — the Doctor must die.

First broadcast in 1983, this is the first story since The Three Doctors to feature Omega, a bitter Gallifreyan exiled forever from this universe. This novelization by Terrance Dicks was adapted from the original script by Johnny Byrne.

Mawdryn Undead

Turlough picked up a boulder and raised it over the unsuspecting Doctor…’

Turlough hated it all: the routine, the discipline, the invented traditions and petty snobbery of a minor English public school.

He hated Earth, and when the mysterious Guardian offered him the chance to escape, he jumped at it. Naturally. All he had to do was to kill the Doctor.

This is a novelization by Peter Grimwade of his own original story, first broadcast in 1983 and featuring Peter Davison in the role of the Doctor. Mawdryn Undead was also the first story to feature Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart since Terror of the Zygons (1975).

Both novels are available now from WH Smith and all other good book stockists.
