Doctor Who Producer Russell T. Davies has poured waters on recently claims in the press that Jennifer Saunders was set to take over the lead role in the show.

Reported by “a source” to The Sun on the 17th, the paper claimed that the actress had been approached to star as the Timelord for one episode. RTD was firm in his denial:

“That is bollocks. They sit there and make things up. I can tell you it’s pure invention. We have never approached her, never spoken to her, never met her.”

That’s that cleared up then!
