Captain Jack Harkness actor John Barrowman has given his thoughts on Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, saying how much he reminds him of the “olden days.”
Speaking to the Huffington Post, Barrowman is enthused that the Doctor is once again a Scot:
“I love the fact he’s Scottish, and that they’ve given him a cape. It takes me back to the olden days.”
And John would love to see a return for the Captain Jack character:
“I would love it, and I think the fans would want it. I know how popular jack is because of the reception I get all over the world, but it’s in the fate of the gods.”
Filming has concluded meanwhile on the as yet unofficially named Doctor Who Christmas Special 2014.

Guest star Nick Frost seemed in agreement, having loved filming the episode, which has been called “a bit of a funny one” by co-star Nathan McMullen :

Frost will join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in starring alongside Nathan McMullen, Michael Troughton, Natalie Gumede and Faye Marsay in the episode which will broadcast on December 25.
