American and Australian ratings for Deep Breath are in… and it’s good news all round.
OzTAM’s overnight ratings in Australia report a combined audience of more than 850,000 for the episode which was screened twice, pushing the series premiere into the top ten rated shows of the day.

The repeat at 7.40pm on Sunday received 710,000 viewers while the initial simulcast at 4.50am attracted an ultra dedicated 148,000 viewers.
Meanwhile on BBC America in its 8:15pm slot, Deep Breath delivered 2.2m total viewers with a growth of 46% from The Bells of Saint John, making the episode the highest rated premiere of the show in America.
From 8-10pm, Doctor Who ranked as the #1 program in all of cable and was number #1 show on Twitter and Tumblr for the day.
In its 11:00pm showing, the Doctor Who post show, After Who Live, delivered 408,000 total viewers.
