Inspired by increasing numbers of people stating they intend to boycott The Moonbase DVD through a belief that the missing episodes have been found, DWA today calls upon the BBC to issue a full, honest and frank statement concerning the recovery of missing episodes, putting the issue to bed one way or another.

The Moonbase DVD we are sure is a wonderful production, both in terms of animation, restoration and the extras upon the disc. While many may criticise members of the team behind these DVDs on occasion, we are in no doubt that they are of supreme quality, as is the animation by Planet 55 studios. It does no good for this release and the range to suffer poor sales, potentially putting future animations in jeopardy and it takes the issue beyond forum chatter and into a commercial issue for the BBC.

The only way to combat this is through a clear and concise statement that these episodes have neither been returned to the archive, not been found by any individual and are not expected to be returned to the archive anytime within the foreseeable future. 

Hasn’t this really gone on long enough now?
