Twelfth Doctor actor Peter Capaldi has been honoured for his television work at the first Royal Television Society (RTS) Scotland awards Awards at a ceremony at Glasgow’s Oran Mor last night
Capaldi, who debuted in the lead role in Doctor Who this past Christmas, received the award for his “outstanding contriubion to television in Scotland and beyond” in series’ as diverse as The Thick of It, The Three Musketeers, The Field of Blood and The Hour.
A statement from the jury says:
“An acclaimed writer, performer and director, Peter has achieved phenomenal success at home and abroad. Original, memorable, engaging and definitive - his contribution to television has been exceptional, and the committee feel he is a worthy and much deserved winner of this inaugural award.”
Hear, hear! congratulations to Peter Capaldi on this much deserved award and hopefully many more will follow during his time on Doctor Who for many years to come.
