Philip Morris has continued his weekly tirade against Steven Moffat and the ongoing series of Doctor Who as he made some quite shocking comments on last night’s Listen, penned by Moffat himself.
Speaking on the Facebook Missing Episodes Group, Morris continued the theme of his previous outspoken comments by condemning “uber fans”:
“I will always love and support Dr Who but not the small group of clique uber fans that run it and surround it and are running it into the ground”
And ratings:
“the drop in viewing figures say it all really… I guess the general public have an agenda too viewing public walking away from Dr Who… Strange lowest rating to date for this series so far”
And the lack of female writers:
“The point with women writers are dr who cardiff under Steven moffat dont employ any screen credits since taking over as showrunner prove that”
Mr Morris however made several new claims, bizarrely that the scripts are “cut and paste” Sherlock:
“Well to everyone who has enjoyed things so far great.but on a quick note the scripts are more or less word for word cut and paste sherlock”
However the most shocking comments came as the famed episode hunter raised the spectre of the Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris and Rotherham child sex abuse scandals during his criticism, these comments since having been deleted from the thread:
“Childrens homes people hiding under the bed rotherham and jimmy saville come to mind 4.8 million viewers won’t be long now… I am glad you enjoyed it thousands didn’t childrens homes jimmy saville rolf harris victims certainly didn’t have a good friend who was obused at a children’s home certainly didn’t enjoy it.”
The Jimmy Savile, Rotherham and Rolf Harris abuse cases are recent notorious paedophile scandals in the United Kingdom encompassing thousands of children and in the case of Savile and Harris, established household celebrities, Savile having worked for the BBC in particular for a great many years prior to his death in 2011.
The Rotherham child sex scandal refers to the existence of widespread child sexual abuse in the town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, between 1997 and 2013, and its alleged cover-up, with particular focus on children’s homes.
Mr Morris’ latest comments come hot on the heels of his “outing” Anthony Horowitz as Steven Moffat’s replacement and further claims about “uber fans” running the show and suggesting the show has a “policy” of not employing female writers.
