DWW Readers have been giving their feedback on the announcement that Jenna Coleman has decided to stay with Doctor Who for the entirety of Series 9.
As is usual, Twitter appeared somewhat more critical of the decision that our Facebook fans, yet the overriding opinion was one of positivity.

“I am VERY disappointed as she’s the least convincing of all the Nu Who companions and just doesn’t come across as ‘real’ to me at all. Her performance is VERY ‘stage’ to me and ‘playing to the gods’. The ‘relationship’ with Danny leaves me cold as well. Wish he had left and they had the guts to go for. Male ‘companion’ next. Another Jamie, or Harry Sullivan would have been great. I am so sick of eye candy for the straight dads. Why can we not have another Donna for instance who in my opinion turned out to be the best companion of Nu Who so far.” - Richard Thomas

“I don’t think she’s the right fit for Capaldi’s Doctor. Clara seems to be in a very awkward place right now, and I knew that she would end up staying because just LOOK at her relationship with the Doctor. He reaches out to her, but she hesitates far too much. Yeah, nothing against Jenna Coleman: she’s a nice actress and all, but where’s the magic?! In other news, Candy Jar Books have released a second cover image for their Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart range, intriguingly for a book not originally listed as part of the four book set.
The mysterious fifth tome is entitled Fear of Light, written by novel veteran Jim Mortimore and was released alongside the following quote:
“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”
The already announced books in the series are The Forgotten Son by Andy Frankham-Allen, Horror of Det-Sen by Lance Parkin, The Schizoid Earth by David A. McIntee and Mutually Assured Domination by Nick Walters.
