Titan Comics have released their preview of the forthcoming Four Doctors mini-series… and it’s a welcome return for the War Doctor, as portrayed on TV by John Hurt.
The War Doctor will be teaming up with Doctors Ten, Eleven and Twelve for the weekly event, which runs through August and September 2015, in place of the ongoing series. This epic event is the thrilling next chapter in Titan Comics’ Doctor Who publishing saga.
Writer Paul Cornell has penned classic episodes from the Doctor Who TV series (Father’s Day, Human Nature/Family of Blood, both Hugo-nominated), classic Doctor Who novels, as well as successful comic book runs on titles such as Wolverine, Action Comics, Demon Knights, Captain Britain and MI:13.
The released pages also show the doctor will be making a return trip to the planet Marinus, last seen on TV in the The Keys of Marinus in 1964! (click to enlarge)
The event follows straight on from the issue 15 conclusions of Year One, with the second years of the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors beginning after the event’s blistering finale!
Doctor Who: Four Doctors 1 releases Wednesday August 12, just ahead of Titan’s global Doctor Who Comics Day on Saturday August 15!
