Jenna Coleman has spoken on missing Matt Smith and how Clara may react to the new Doctor as played by Peter Capaldi who makes his debut tomorrow in The Time of the Doctor.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Jenna has said she will be sad to see Matt leave the role but not sorry to see the back of his on-set pranks!
“I won’t miss the general messing about on a day-to-day basis. He is really maddening, but I will miss his annoying face every day, his energy, the fact I have worked with him for a year and a half and still don’t know what he is going to do every day, his enthusiasm and his love for the show. He has been quite an incredible Doctor. He is very dashing and charming and handsome and funny but that is enough praise for him!”
Jenna also spoke on her characters true feelings for the Doctor:
“Clara is totally in love with him. We see in the 50th episode that she begins to truly get to know the kind of man the Doctor is and that leads into Matt’s last episode.”
And those feelings are certainly sure to be knocked for six on Christmas Day as the Doctor regenerates into the new form of Peter Capaldi:
“Don’t be fooled by age, age is but a number. You will see what I mean! The strange thing is, I have filmed my first scene with him and the first thing we did was the regeneration and I was looking him in the eyes and I had no idea what he was going to do and vice versa. But I could just feel he had definitely arrived and I have no shadow of a doubt he is going to be wonderful but different. We are beginning to prep for next year and it is going to be good”
