Doctor Who Worldwide is saddened to learn of the passing of classic series writer Jane Baker, wife and writing partner of Pip Baker.
Alongside her husband, Jane was prolific in the mid to late 1980s, scripting The Mark of the Rani (1985), The Trial of a Time Lord Parts 9–12 and 14 (1986) and Time and the Rani (1987), novelising all four for Target Books alongside the Make Your Own Adventure With Doctor Who book, Race Against Time.
The duo returned to the character of the Rani for BBV productions in 2000 with The Rani Reaps the Whirlwind.
Jane’s 39 year career also included Space: 1999, Watt on Earth, Night of the Big Heat and Captain Nemo and the Underwater City.
